We had quite a few windows in the KH. They were practically at the ceiling so no-one could day dream out of them. Luckily there was a significant window cleaning contingent that took turns to look after them.

Do kingdom halls tend to have few windows? If so why?
by Qcmbr ini was looking at some pics of khs and i remembered something i'd noticed while dusting my feet off outside a jw hall - very few windows.
is that a policy or was i just at the back of the building...?

Let the Games begin.......
by Gill inwell, after being shunned by my realtions for the last few years, except for parents and sister i've decided that i will no longer play by the rules of the jw cult game.
i have had contact with several cousins, obviously too gob smacked by my cheek to shun in any way shape or form and have began wriggling my way into their awareness again.
i intend to be like a kill and destroy white blood cell that gradually wreaks havoc with their jw cells and destroys...repeat destroys all that jw crap that is in them.

Sharing birthdays with famous people
by target inwhen my husband was convinced to be baptized back in '74, the jw who studied with my husband went with him to meet with the elders.
when the elder asked for my husband's birthday for his records, he said nov 12 and the jw says "not my birthday, he wants yours".
my husband says, "it is mine".

Well, I'm trying to look for a positive here - Dost's words certainly re-inforce in my mind how mind numblingly crass these people are.
Interesting reference - ' ..and it's goodbye from him' - this is almost identical to a phrase used by a British comedy duo The Two Ronnies. A UK dweller perchance?
The best thing to do with these people is just to ignore them - they clearly adore the oxygen of publicity and attention.

nothing new there you might think, but...all the band members are active (?
) witnesses, all supposedly "in good standing", and including at least two elders, an ms and a pio.

What an unbelievably crass comment. I hope that you or your family never experience anything like what these people have suffered. The efforts made by Silent Lambs are incredible - remember these are people who give up their time and energy for the sake of others.

Forgiveness, How Far Do You Take It?
by prophecor inhas it ever happened to you, something so dispicable you would rather go to your grave, not having forgiven someone a wrong they had done you, hopeful that god would sort it out in the end?
mind you, i know things like child molestation, rape and murder are things for which it is difficult, if not impossible, to be forgiving of.
that being said, where does one draw the line on forgiveness?

This is something I tend to struggle with...I do forgive but I don't forget. I can quite easily nurse a grudge for as long as it takes, which is not something I'm particularly proud of.
It all depends on the perceived 'wrong' and who has committed it.
